Description
It is a pity that the last plate used was so badly polished. The grey shades mean that many of its tonal values have disappeared. Nevertheless, we can still see Nogués’ inventive skill and the spirit with which he observes the bored café-goers seated around the table on the terrace.

Nogués’ last aquatint. A perfect and mysterious combination of aquatint, drypoint (used without considering the burr lines) and etching, with its well-defined lines. The print harks back to the themes in «La Catalunya pintoresca».

Description
One of Nogués’ key drypoint engravings. The tool has engraved the plate in just the right measure, with no technical mistakes and a perfect balance between the grace of the figures and formal rigour.
