This is one of Nogués’ key works. His observation of the subjects, the rhythm of the composition and the highly accomplished drypoint technique are wonderfully and successfully combined. Unlike his other works featuring people and places seen from a distance, Nogués reveals his liking for detail, which he resolves with technical flair in his depiction of this couple in a café. We are also including a print from the Palau Antiguitats gallery signed in pencil (December 2022).
