Description
There are two known states of this print. The first is an etching produced in three stages. The second state (MNAC) is rich in the tonal effects of aquatint. It is surprising that there isn’t even the smallest patchy area or ‘crevé’. This is one of Nogués’ finest prints and the way the characters move and the graceful, balanced composition remind us of his drawings for “La Catalunya pintoresca”. We are including a print from the Palau Antiguitats gallery signed in pencil (December 2022).
