Description
Part of a set of six champagne glasses. Female figure wearing a tunic. An example has been found in a private collection (from the C. Arderiu de Riba collection). There is another at the Museu Maricel in Sitges (R. 81), on permanent loan from the Catalan government since 1/12/2014 (previously part of the Salvador Riera collection). Its measurements vary slightly: 12 x 3.5 cm diameter. The enamel on the girl’s arm on the glass at the museum has a defect due to overfiring. Crespo and Nogués didn’t consider it suitable for sale, but, instead of discarding it, they decided to give it to a friend as a present. Rights to the second image: Museu Maricel, Sitges.

Notes
With the collaboration of Conxa Domènech. Xavier Nogués is the author of the drawings and, sometimes, also of the pictorial transposition with enamel on the glass, Ricard Crespo was responsible for the firing of the pieces and Conxa Domènech de Crespo who also traced and reviewed Nogués’ drawings. The degree of Xavier Nogués’ direct participation is especially evident in the finishes and when compared with the original drawings.
