Description
Glass featuring a man in a blue jacket holding a bottle of wine. A number of examples of this glass have been found. Two were at the Palau Antiguitats gallery in Barcelona and are now in a private collection. All the glasses are identical, the only difference being the inscription on the base. One of them reads: “Nogués p. 10 / Crespo f. 8” and another, from the Clavell & Morgades gallery, reads “Nogués p. / Crespo f.” The photograph shows the glass from the Clavell & Morgades gallery, as it is the best available image of the piece.
We would like to thank the Palau Antiguitats and Clavell & Morgades for their assistance in cataloguing the different examples of this glass.

Notes
With the collaboration of Conxa Domènech. Xavier Nogués is the author of the drawings and, sometimes, also of the pictorial transposition with enamel on the glass, Ricard Crespo was responsible for the firing of the pieces and Conxa Domènech de Crespo who also traced and reviewed Nogués’ drawings. The degree of Xavier Nogués’ direct participation is especially evident in the finishes and when compared with the original drawings.
