Description

Xavier Nogués produced a number of covers for the programmes for the concerts staged by the Associació Música “da Càmera” de Barcelona at the Palau de la Música for the 1932-1933 season. They were printed by the Institut Gràfic Oliva in Vilanova i la Geltrú in 1932. The programme for the first concert shows an indiano (a Catalan who had made his fortune in the Americas) with a group of sailors, and is based on the preparatory drawing for the mural in the mayor’s office at Barcelona City Hall, known as The Adventurer and the Captain or The Indiano or the Adventurer.
