Description

Xavier Nogués produced a number of covers for the programmes for the concerts staged by the Associació Música “da Càmera” de Barcelona at the Palau de la Música for the 1932-1933 season. They were printed by the Institut Gràfic Oliva in Vilanova i la Geltrú in 1932. The programme for the fifth concert features a man wearing a Catalan cap, or barretina, and smoking a pipe. It is based on the preparatory drawing for the mural in the mayor’s office at Barcelona City Hall, known as The Port, a continuation of the mural The Spiritual Renaissance of Catalonia.
