The photograph shows an epoxy resin reproduction of the original antimony figure. It was made by the Barcelona art museums restoration services for the 1984 Nogués retrospective, and was originally a banister finial in the basement bar, El Celler, at the Galeries Laietanes. It was made from a model by Xavier Nogués (ca. 1915) (Barcelona, MNAC, inventory no. 121.895).
Santiago Segura, the owner of the Galeries Laietanes, commissioned Xavier Nogués to decorate El Celler where the noucentista artists would meet. Nogués produced murals as well as this small sculpture that decorated the staircase that led down to the basement, which was a temple to wine.
