– Yes… it’s like they say… Hernán Cortés doesn’t make you less brave.
The cartoon is a humorous reworking of the Spanish saying, “Lo cortés no quita lo valiente” (which translates literally as “being courteous doesn’t make you less brave”) using the name of the conquistador Hernán Cortés. The English equivalent would be “It doesn’t cost anything to be polite”.
