Description

At the beginning of 1889, the Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona organised the first annual fancy dress carnival ball. From 1915 onwards, the posters were used to publicise the event. The 1926 poster was on an African theme and designed by Nogués. It was published by I. G. Seix & Barral, Herms, S.A, Barcelona. Few copies of this poster have survived. This one was sold at a public auction held by Poster Auctions International Inc. on 14th March 2021, lot no. 408. Image rights: Invaluable.
