Description

In the 1932-1933 season, the Barcelona Musical Association “Da Càmera” promoted its concerts at emblematic venues such as the Palau de la Música Catalana with images of some drawings by Xavier Nogués on the covers of its hand-held programs. There are various works, some based on the preparatory sketches that the artist painted for the mayor’s office of honor at the Barcelona City Hall, in the Saló de la Casa Plandiura, etc. In total, there are twelve hand-held programs: numbered from the first to the twelfth concert throughout the season. They were printed at the Institut Grafic Oliva in Vilanova i la Geltrú, 1932.

The Associació de Música da Càmera was founded in Barcelona in April 1913 by members of the Barcelona bourgeoisie who loved art and music. In 1917 Manuel Clausells became secretary. The association ended its activity in June 1936, when Manuel Clausells was assassinated and the entity was dissolved. The entity usually scheduled its concerts at the Palau de la Música catalana.
