Description
Original drawing to illustrate page 21 of the wine list for the basement café, El Celler, at the Galeries Laietanes. Dated 1915/1916. Drunken man in a frock coat and top hat staggering. Once owned by the Crespo family. It first belonged to Conxa Domènech (Ricard Crespo’s widow) and was bequeathed to her daughters Cèlia and Pilar. When Pilar died in 1977 her Mexican husband went to live with one of his children from a previous marriage and this is when we lost all trace of the drawing. Today, we presume it is in Mexico in a private collection. We do not know the size of the drawing as we have no access to it. Image rights: Dani Rovira.
