Description
Nogués painted this work two years before he died. For many years it was part of Lluís Plandiura’s extraordinary art collection.
The theme is an unusual one in Nogués’ body of work but he also made an etching with the same title, in 1937, showing three farm workers gathered together. The etching also belonged to Plandiura and this leads us to think that he was interested in the theme and commissioned these two works from Nogués.
