Description
Small and simple, high-quality print. Etching made from a plate that has been varnished several times. It is one of Nogués’ most realistic works and is associated with his sketches for his mural paintings. We know of a print (now in a private collection) signed by the artist in pencil in the bottom right-hand corner.

Description
There are two known states of this print. The first state is an etching produced in three stages. The sketches have been done using drypoint. In the second state, the drypoint has disappeared and the print has been completed using the etching technique in three stages. A work based on Nogués’ caricatures, or ninots, which shows his characteristic mocking, comical tone.

Description
A harsher, more existentialist work that certainly reflects the backdrop of the Spanish Civil War. The theme is redolent of Goya’s most visceral and brutal works. We are adding a print from the Palau Antiguitats gallery signed in pencil and dated 1935 (December 2022).

Description
The artist’s notebook reveals that there are three known states of this print. The first two are similar and were made using the drypoint technique with subtle and slight differences. The problem comes with the third state, where the ground has been burnished, among other details, and aquatint has been used. We believe that the print Europa may be the third state of this print and that the third state described in the notebook is in fact a fourth state. The original title is thought to have been erased and replaced with this strange one X X.

Description
This is one of Nogués’ most important horse-riding prints. The artist has captured the personality of each of the figures featured in the scene. Particularly noteworthy is the technically accomplished relationship between light and shade, the graceful lines and the judicious use of areas of white, which help balance out the composition. We are adding a print from the Palau Antiguitats gallery signed in pencil and dated 1936 with the dedication “al amic florit” [to my friend Florit] (December 2022).

Description
There are two known states of this print, which is one of the artist’s key works. The states allow us to follow the different stages in the process of working on such a complicated plate that features so many figures. The second state is more detailed and figures have been added to the composition. We are adding a print from Palau Antiguitats gallery signed in pencil and dated 1934 (December 2022).

Description
There are two known states of this print. The first state has basic lines and the second is based on the same layout. The composition and the Arabesque are balanced. The same cannot be said for the shades of black which are not as harmonious as they are in other works. We are adding a print from Palau Antiguitats gallery signed in pencil and dated 1934 (December 2022).
