Description

Three elegantly dressed women occupy the foreground, some holding parasols, surrounded by flowers and plants. In the background, a landscape unfolds with two riders on horseback and a tower perched on a hilltop. This work was one of the murals Nogués created to decorate the dining room of Lluís Plandiura’s house in La Garriga (1936). The scheme consisted of three panels on the following themes: “Fishing and Hunting”, “Summer” and “Harvest” (the latter two also referred to as “Flowers” and “Fruits”).

The Barcelona auction house Subarna sold this piece on 12th February 2026 (lot 655). The catalogue description notes that the painting is registered with the Institut Amatller d’Art Hispànic.

We are grateful to the Subarna auction house for kindly granting permission to reproduce some of the accompanying images.
